Tracking Setup
Overview
Section titled “Overview”Tracking setup in Corso is intentionally simple. There is no separate tracking portal to configure and no carrier accounts to connect. Once the Corso portal is embedded on your site, tracking is available as part of the Order Hub experience.
This article covers turning tracking on, choosing how shipment status is collected, setting up branded notifications with Klaviyo, and what to check when a shipment is not showing status.
What You Can Expect
Section titled “What You Can Expect”With tracking enabled, you can:
- Show a branded delivery timeline in your customer portal instead of sending customers to a carrier site
- Give customers estimated delivery dates and per-parcel status on multi-box orders
- Let customers report a shipping issue or start a return from the same page
- Trigger Klaviyo flows on shipment milestones like In Transit, Out for Delivery, and Delivered
Setup Checklist
Section titled “Setup Checklist”- Embed the Corso portal on your storefront.
- Enable tracking in Settings > Tracking.
- Confirm tracking appears in the Order Hub for a shipped order.
- Enable the Klaviyo integration and build flows on Order Shipment Update.
Embed the Portal
Section titled “Embed the Portal”The main implementation step is embedding the Corso portal on your Shopify store. Tracking is included inside that embedded portal rather than managed as a separate tool, so if you already use Corso for returns or warranties, there is nothing new to install.
For presentation and placement, see Customizing the Portal Theme and Order Hub and Program Name Customization.
Enable Tracking
Section titled “Enable Tracking”- Navigate to Settings > Tracking in your Corso Admin.
- Select Turn On.
While tracking is off, the tracking section is hidden from your customer portal entirely. Customers see no delivery status and no empty placeholder. You can still configure the settings on the page while tracking is off, and nothing takes effect until you turn it on.
Choosing a Tracking Source
Section titled “Choosing a Tracking Source”The Tracking Source setting controls when Corso begins tracking a parcel, which affects how current and how detailed the status is.
Shopify Fulfillment Events (default) relies on the shipment status your shipping app or 3PL writes back to Shopify. Corso begins tracking the parcel directly the first time a customer opens their order. This is a good fit when your shipping app keeps Shopify up to date and your orders usually ship in a single box.
Corso begins tracking every parcel as soon as the order is fulfilled, and receives updates for the full life of the shipment. Status is accurate per parcel and current before a customer ever opens their order, with a detailed scan history and estimated delivery dates. Choose this if you ship multi-parcel orders, your 3PL does not report fulfillment events back to Shopify, or you want the most accurate status.
Choosing Corso also improves your Klaviyo notifications, since shipment updates are detected sooner.
Note: Shopify reports shipment status per fulfillment rather than per parcel, so it cannot tell you which box in a multi-box order was delivered. Corso always tracks multi-parcel fulfillments directly, regardless of this setting. To modify this setting please contact us.
Verify
Section titled “Verify”Open a recently shipped order in your customer portal and confirm the Order Hub shows a delivery status and, where available, an estimated delivery date.
If the shipment appears but there is no status, see Troubleshooting below.
Recommended: Klaviyo for Tracking Notifications
Section titled “Recommended: Klaviyo for Tracking Notifications”If you use Klaviyo, this is the best setup for most brands.
Corso sends Order Shipment Update events into Klaviyo, which lets you build branded flows for statuses like In Transit, Out for Delivery, and Delivered, with buttons linking customers back to your embedded tracking page.
That gives you two pieces working together:
- Corso provides the branded tracking experience in your Order Hub
- Klaviyo handles the customer notifications and flow logic
To enable it, go to Settings > Integrations > Klaviyo and toggle on Order Tracking Events.
Note: These are two separate switches. Settings > Tracking controls whether tracking appears in your customer portal. The Klaviyo Order Tracking Events toggle controls whether Corso sends shipment updates to Klaviyo. You can use either one without the other.

Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”Tracking numbers appear, but there is no delivery status
Section titled “Tracking numbers appear, but there is no delivery status”The most common causes:
- The carrier needs extra setup. A small number of carriers need one-time configuration from our team before tracking data flows. See Carriers That Need Extra Setup.
- The parcel has not been scanned yet. A label was created but the package has not been handed to the carrier. Status appears once the first scan happens.
- The tracking number is not valid. Some fulfillment apps write placeholder values into the tracking number field.
If none of these apply, reach out to support@corso.com with the order number and we will take a look.
Tracking is not appearing for one specific carrier
Section titled “Tracking is not appearing for one specific carrier”Corso reads the carrier name from the fulfillment on your Shopify order, and recognizes the common variations of each carrier name. If your fulfillment app writes an unusual spelling or an internal code, we may not match it.
Corso will still attempt to track the shipment using the tracking number alone, which works for most major carriers. If a particular carrier consistently shows no tracking, contact us.
Status is behind, or a multi-box order shows one status
Section titled “Status is behind, or a multi-box order shows one status”This is expected on the Shopify Fulfillment Events source, which reflects what your shipping app reports to Shopify and cannot report per parcel. Switching the Tracking Source to Corso gives you per-parcel status that is current before a customer opens their order. See Choosing a Tracking Source.
Tracking looks right in Corso, but no Klaviyo emails are going out
Section titled “Tracking looks right in Corso, but no Klaviyo emails are going out”Settings > Tracking and the Klaviyo Order Tracking Events toggle are two separate switches. Confirm the Klaviyo toggle is on under Settings > Integrations > Klaviyo, and that you have a flow built on the Order Shipment Update event.
Q: Do I need to connect a carrier or shipping account to use tracking? No. Tracking works without any carrier setup on your side. A few carriers need one-time configuration from Corso, listed in Supported Carriers.
Q: Do I have to enter tracking numbers anywhere? No. Corso reads tracking numbers from the fulfillments on your Shopify orders, so whatever your 3PL or shipping app already sends to Shopify is what gets tracked.
Q: Do I need to do anything when I add a new carrier? Usually not. As long as the tracking number reaches Shopify on the fulfillment, Corso picks it up.
Q: My carrier is not on the supported list. Can Corso still track it? Possibly. Corso can often track a shipment from the tracking number alone. Contact us and we will look into adding support.
Q: Does any of this affect my return label carriers? No. Tracking covers outbound orders. Return label carriers are configured separately. See Configuring a Shipping Provider.
Q: What happens to tracking if I turn the feature off? The tracking section is removed from your customer portal immediately. Your order and shipment data is unaffected, and turning it back on restores the experience.
