Intro to Tracking

Most brands hand off the post-purchase experience the moment a package ships. The shipping confirmation goes out, the customer clicks through to a carrier site, and for the next several days your brand is absent from the most anxious part of the order.

Corso Order Tracking keeps that traffic on your site. Delivery status appears in the Order Hub of your embedded customer portal, in your theme, alongside the actions a customer is most likely to need next.

Once an order ships, customers can see:

  • Current delivery status, including in transit, out for delivery, and delivered
  • Estimated delivery date, where the carrier provides one
  • A timeline of the shipment’s progress, with locations
  • Carrier and tracking number, linked out if the customer wants the carrier’s own page
  • Which items are in which box, for orders that ship in more than one parcel

If you also use Corso for returns, warranties, or shipping issue reporting, those actions appear on the same page. That turns “where is my order” and “this arrived damaged” into one click instead of a support ticket.

You do not enter tracking numbers anywhere, and there are no carrier accounts to connect. Corso reads tracking numbers from the fulfillments on your Shopify orders, so whatever your 3PL, WMS, or shipping app already sends to Shopify is what Corso tracks.

From there, the Tracking Source setting controls when Corso begins tracking a parcel:

  • Shopify Fulfillment Events (default) uses the status your shipping app reports to Shopify, and begins tracking the parcel directly the first time a customer opens their order.
  • Corso begins tracking every parcel as soon as the order is fulfilled, giving you more accurate and more current status.

The tradeoffs are covered in Tracking Setup.

Note: Shopify reports shipment status per fulfillment rather than per parcel, so it cannot tell you which box in a multi-box order was delivered. Corso always tracks multi-parcel fulfillments directly, regardless of this setting.

Corso supports 139 carriers worldwide. See Supported Carriers for the full list.

Tracking is enabled per store in Settings > Tracking in your Corso Admin. While it is off, the tracking section is hidden from your customer portal entirely.
