Product Exchanges
Getting Started
Section titled “Getting Started”What is it?
Section titled “What is it?”Product Exchanges let your customers swap one product for another directly within the return portal. Without a Product Exchange rule, customers can only exchange for another variant of the same product.
Feature Overview
Section titled “Feature Overview”Product Exchanges use product groups and Product Exchange rules to decide which items can be exchanged for one another. Group your products by Shopify tags, types, or collections, then create rules that say which returned items can be swapped for which groups.
For every setting on a rule, including price adjustments and inventory thresholds, see Advanced Exchanges.

Simple selection: Customers pick a product and variant on one screen.
-
Rule-based flexibility: Tailor exchange options to your catalog using product groups.
-
Inventory-aware: Variants below your inventory threshold are not offered when you set a threshold above 0. Set it to 0 to skip the stock check (out-of-stock variants are then offered).
-
Scalable: Set up once, then manage exchange options without touching every product individually.
