Global-e

Global-e is a cross-border commerce platform that manages international shipping, duties, and returns for brands selling globally. When you connect Global-e to Corso, return labels for Global-e orders are generated through Global-e. Corso routes the return shipment through Global-e’s network instead of your standard shipping provider.

The Global-e integration works with returns and warranties. Corso identifies a Global-e order by the GEOrderId attribute that Global-e adds to the order in Shopify. For these orders, Global-e decides where the items are returned to and issues the label, so you do not select a to or from address.

Global-e orders always return through Global-e. Corso does not fall back to EasyPost or Vesyl for them.

With the Global-e integration connected, you can:

  • Generate return labels for cross-border claims through Global-e instead of EasyPost or Vesyl.
  • Let customers get a Global-e return label in the customer portal by setting up a Return Shipping Policy that is Managed by Global-e.
  • Use Quick Ship on Global-e claims without needing a configured EasyPost or Vesyl provider.
  • Target Global-e orders in automations with the Global-e Order condition.
  • Track Global-e return shipments in Corso automatically.
  • Apply a custom shipping line title to replacement orders created for Global-e claims.
  1. In the Corso Admin, go to Settings > Integrations.
  2. Scroll to the Cross-Border section.
  3. Toggle the Global-e switch on.
  4. In the Global-e Configuration modal that appears, enter your Merchant GUID (required). You can find this value in your Global-e account.
  5. Optionally, enter a Replacement Order Shipping Title. This is the shipping line title applied to replacement orders created for Global-e claims.
  6. Click Save.

The configuration modal only opens the first time you turn on Global-e. After that, the toggle simply turns the integration on or off and keeps your saved settings. To update your Merchant GUID or shipping title, click the gear icon (Manage Global-e Account) on the Global-e card.

Set up a Return Shipping Policy for Global-e

Section titled “Set up a Return Shipping Policy for Global-e”

For customers to receive a Global-e return label when they submit a return in the customer portal, you need a Return Shipping Policy that is managed by Global-e.

  1. In the Corso Admin, go to Settings > Shipping Policies.
  2. Create a new return shipping policy, or edit an existing one.
  3. Add conditions for the orders this policy should cover. For example, use the destination countries that Global-e handles, or the Global-e Order condition.
  4. Under Return Handling, select Managed by Global-e. This option only appears after Global-e has been connected.
  5. Save the policy.

Policies managed by Global-e display a Managed By Global-e badge in your Shipping Policies list.

When a customer starts a return on a Global-e order that is covered by a policy managed by Global-e:

  • Corso offers a single return method, the cheapest option Global-e provides, displayed as Use Provided Label with the carrier name. Because there is only one option, the customer skips the return method step and goes straight to the summary.
  • Instant exchanges are not offered for returns that use a Global-e label.
  • Global-e labels may be issued as QR codes.

If the customer submits a Right to Withdraw request on a Global-e order, Corso creates the return with the cheapest Global-e label. No return shipping fee is deducted for Global-e labels.

How return shipments work for Global-e claims in the Corso Admin

Section titled “How return shipments work for Global-e claims in the Corso Admin”

When a claim is associated with a Global-e order, the Create Shipment option is not available. Instead, use Quick Ship from the Shipments card on the claim. Quick Ship is available while the claim has no shipments.

When you click Quick Ship, Corso confirms that a Global-e return label will be generated using the cheapest available return method. Click Ship It to create the label. Global-e determines the return destination, so no address selection is required. Merchant Quick Ship on Global-e claims does not depend on your return shipping policies.

The Quick Ship option on the claim creation form is not available for Global-e orders. Create the claim first, then use Quick Ship from the claim.

If a claim is not associated with a Global-e order, the standard shipment flow applies.

The first time Global-e sends a return to a new destination, Corso automatically adds that destination to your return locations, named Global-e followed by the city.

These locations appear in your Shipping Policies settings with a Managed By Global-e badge. They cannot be edited or deleted from within Corso, and they cannot be selected as the return location in a standard shipping policy.

Corso checks Global-e for tracking updates on return shipments every 30 minutes, including in-transit, delivered, and return-to-sender updates. Tracking is also refreshed when you open a claim, if it hasn’t been updated in the last few minutes. These updates move the claim forward the same way tracking updates from other shipping providers do.

When Corso creates an exchange or replacement order for a Global-e claim, it adds a $0.00 shipping line using your Replacement Order Shipping Title. This helps your team identify Global-e replacement shipments in Shopify. If you leave the title blank, no shipping line is added. Your store’s regular exchange shipping title is not used for Global-e orders.

If Corso can’t create a Global-e label, you’ll see one of these messages:

  • No return shipping options were found for this shipment. Global-e did not return any return methods for the items on the claim.
  • Failed to create Global-e return shipment. Global-e rejected the label request. A warning with the Global-e Order ID is also added to the claim timeline.

Global-e requires a SKU on every item being returned. If a label fails, check that each returned item has a SKU in Shopify.

Do I need a shipping policy for Global-e to work? For returns submitted in the customer portal, yes. Customers only receive a Global-e label when their order is covered by a Return Shipping Policy that is managed by Global-e. Quick Ship from the Corso Admin works without one.

Can I edit a return location that is managed by Global-e? No. Return locations managed by Global-e are read-only in Corso. They display with a Managed By Global-e badge in your Shipping Policies settings.

Do I still need EasyPost or Vesyl configured to use Quick Ship on Global-e claims? No. Global-e claims can use Quick Ship independently of your EasyPost or Vesyl configuration.

Can customers choose between multiple Global-e return methods? No. Corso offers only the cheapest return method Global-e provides.

Are instant exchanges available for Global-e returns? No. Instant exchanges are not offered when the return uses a Global-e label.

What is the Replacement Order Shipping Title field for? It sets the label on the shipping line item when Corso creates a replacement order for a Global-e claim. This helps your team identify Global-e replacement shipments in Shopify.
