Order Eligibility in Corso

Order Eligibility in Corso helps you quickly determine if an order is eligible for returns, exchanges, gift cards, or warranties based on your configured policies and automation rules. This tool provides instant visibility into what a customer would see in the portal, and it’s especially useful for troubleshooting eligibility issues or verifying your automation setup.

With Order Eligibility, you can:

  • Instantly check whether specific line items in an order are eligible for returns, exchanges, gift cards, or warranties
  • See default policy eligibility alongside overrides from automation rules
  • Verify eligibility logic when testing new rules or policy updates
  • Troubleshoot customer issues by comparing admin visibility to the customer’s portal view
  • Confirm product tags and associated rules applied at the time of purchase

  1. Search for the order using either:
    • Order Lookup on the relevant page, or
    • Quick Search from the top navigation bar.
  2. Once you’re in the order view, click View Eligibility.
  3. The eligibility panel displays:
    • Order details (order number, processed date)
    • Line items with their current eligibility status (eligible or ineligible for each resolution type)
  • Green = Eligible: The item qualifies under your policy or an automation rule.
  • Red = Ineligible: The item does not meet policy requirements.
  • The eligibility view highlights any automation rules that have been applied, overriding your default settings.
  • Example: A VIP Customer – One-Year Return Window automation may extend a standard return window from 30 days to 365 days.
  • This context helps explain why certain orders appear eligible or ineligible.
  • Customer Questions: If a customer asks why an item isn’t eligible in the portal, you can enter their order number to see the same eligibility logic.
  • Rule Verification: Use eligibility checks while setting up automations to confirm they’re working as intended.
  • Product Tags: The panel shows product tags captured at the time of purchase, making it easier to validate rule conditions tied to tags.

Q: Can I override ineligible orders from the admin?
Yes. Through the Merchant UI, you can file a claim regardless of eligibility status, but the eligibility view shows what customers would experience in the portal.

Q: Do eligibility checks account for automation rules?
Yes. The panel displays both default policy rules and any automation overrides that apply.

Q: Can I see eligibility for all line items in an order?
Yes. Each line item is listed individually with its eligibility status.

Q: Why would I use this tool instead of just filing the claim?
It provides visibility into how policies and automations are being applied, helping with both troubleshooting and testing.
