Smart Registrations

Smart Registrations is an AI-powered enhancement to the Corso registration flow that makes it faster and more accurate for customers to register their products. Instead of manually filling out a form and searching for their purchased items, customers upload a proof of purchase and Corso automatically analyzes it to populate form fields and suggest matching products from your catalog.

Smart Registrations is opt-in and can be enabled directly from the Corso admin.

By enabling Smart Registrations, you can:

  • Reduce registration friction: Customers upload a receipt instead of manually entering all their information upfront.
  • Improve data accuracy: AI-extracted data from receipts means fewer errors and less manual editing on the brand side.
  • Increase completion rates: A simpler, guided flow means more customers complete their registration.
  • Streamline product matching: AI suggests the correct products from your catalog based on what appears in the receipt.
  • Improve warranty and reporting accuracy: More accurate registrations lead to better downstream warranty and reporting data.

Step 1: Customer Uploads a Proof of Purchase

When Smart Registrations is enabled, the first step in the registration flow changes. Rather than presenting customers with a full form to complete, Corso prompts them to upload a proof of purchase. This can be any receipt image, including digital or printed receipts from any retailer.

Once uploaded, the customer clicks Analyze and Corso uses AI to scan the image and extract all available information, including:

  • Customer name and contact details
  • Original purchase location
  • Purchased items

Extracted data is used to automatically populate the registration form. If any fields cannot be pulled from the receipt (for example, if an email address is not present), those fields will be left blank with a prompt for the customer to complete them manually. A notice at the top of the form reminds customers to review all pre-filled information before submitting.

After the form is pre-filled, Corso presents AI-generated product suggestions based on what was identified in the receipt. Suggestions are matched against your product catalog, and confidence levels determine how closely a suggestion matches.

  • High-confidence matches are surfaced as the top suggestion and can be accepted with a single click.
  • Multiple variants (such as size or color) can be swapped out if the suggested variant is not the correct one.
  • If no match is found or the customer needs to find a different product, they can manually search your catalog directly within the flow.

Once the customer has confirmed their information and products, they submit the registration. From there, you can optionally allow them to file a warranty claim or end the flow at registration.

In the Corso admin, individual registrations will indicate whether they were completed using Smart Registrations. This includes:

  • Whether a product was added via an AI suggestion
  • Whether a product was manually added by the customer after the AI analysis

This visibility helps your team quickly audit registration quality and understand how the AI-assisted flow is performing.

Smart Registrations is opt-in. To enable it, navigate to Settings in the Corso admin and toggle on the Smart Registrations option. Once enabled, the updated registration flow will be active for all customers going through the registration experience.

What types of receipts does Smart Registrations support?

Any receipt image can be uploaded, including digital screenshots and photos of printed receipts from any retailer, including Amazon and others.

What happens if the AI can’t extract all the information from the receipt?

Fields that cannot be extracted will remain blank. A notice at the top of the form prompts the customer to review and complete any missing information before submitting.

Can customers still register without a receipt?

Yes. The option to register without a proof of purchase remains available for brands that allow it.

What if the AI suggests the wrong product?

Customers can swap variants on a suggested product or manually search your catalog to find the correct item if the suggestion does not match.

Within the registration detail view in the Corso admin, products will be labeled to indicate whether they were added via an AI suggestion or manually selected by the customer.
