Registration Settings Overview

This article provides a high-level overview of the registration settings available in Corso. These settings allow you to define which products can be registered, how customers interact with your registration flow, and what information you collect from them.

With Corso’s registration settings, you can:

  • Control which products are eligible for registration using product groups and conditions.
  • Decide whether registrations can immediately trigger warranty claims.
  • Customize the customer experience with dedicated URLs, messaging, and product lookup tools.
  • Collect the right information from your customers, including proof of purchase, address, phone number, and custom fields.
  • Manage registration channels to align with where your products are sold.
  • Localize registrations by restricting available countries.

These options ensure flexibility, helping you tailor the registration flow to your brand’s policies and customer experience goals.

  • A master toggle at the top of the settings page lets you turn product registrations on or off at any time.
  • Create rules that define which products are eligible for registration.
  • Rules can leverage product groups, which are predefined sets of products created using tags, types, or collections.
  • Example: A rule could allow registration for all products, or only for specific groups such as Shirts or Electronics.
  • You can also apply conditions such as sales channel availability.
  • Each brand receives a dedicated registration URL that can be embedded in your site or used directly.
  • Customers can access this URL to begin the registration process.
  • Optionally allow customers to file a warranty claim directly from the registration success page.
  • If disabled, customers will need to navigate separately to file a warranty claim later.
  • Define the sales channels (e.g., Amazon, retail store, DTC site) where products may have been purchased.
  • Add as many as needed to match your brand’s distribution.
  • Require proof of purchase (highly recommended).
  • Collect customer address at registration or wait until a warranty claim is filed.
  • Require phone number entry.
  • Restrict registration by country, limiting where customers can file based on your policies.
  • Add additional fields to collect unique information during registration.
  • Examples: serial numbers, marketing opt-in, or product-specific details.
  • Fields can be marked as required or optional.
  • Custom fields are shared across Corso’s platform and can be reused in returns or warranty flows.
  • Customize messaging across key stages of the registration flow:
    • Product Identification Page: Add instructions or link to a product information page on your site.
    • Button Labels & Placeholders: Define the text customers see when searching for or submitting product info.
    • Success Page Messaging: Personalize confirmation text and optionally include a direct link to start a claim.

  1. Customer visits your registration URL.
  2. Enters required information (name, phone, proof of purchase, etc.).
  3. Proceeds to the product lookup page, where they search and select their product.
  4. Submits the registration.
  5. Sees a confirmation message, with the option to start a claim if enabled.
