A/B Testing Shipping Rates with IntelliGems + Corso

Using our integration with IntelliGems, brands can now A/B test their shipping prices directly in Shopify Checkout. This gives you powerful insight into how different price points impact conversion, order volume, and shipping revenue—all without needing custom development.

Inside the IntelliGems Admin, create a new test with at least three variants:

  • Control group
  • Higher-priced group
  • Lower-priced group

Once the test is created, go to Show Info to grab the Test Group IDs for each variant.

In the Corso Admin, navigate to:

Shipping Plus > Rate Modifications

For each group ID, create a corresponding rate modification:

  • Control Group: $2 markup
  • Higher Group: $3 markup
  • Lower Group: $1 markup

Paste the IntelliGems Test Group ID into each rule so Corso can modify rates based on which group the customer is bucketed into.

When a customer adds an item to their cart, IntelliGems appends a hidden line item attribute with their assigned Test Group ID.

At checkout, Corso reads that ID and dynamically modifies the shipping rate based on the rules you’ve set.

Rates are adjusted in real time per customer, based on their A/B test group.

  • Price changes (e.g., $1 vs. $3 shipping)
  • Rate name or description updates
  • Different service levels (Standard vs. Express)
  • Free shipping thresholds and how they affect conversion

This integration empowers your team to:
