Rate Modification Conditions
Section titled “Rate Modification Conditions”You can establish conditions for when the modification should happen. Here are the conditions you can configure:
Condition | Definition | Notes |
---|---|---|
Customer Segment | If the customer is in a Shopify customer segment | Requires customer line item attribute (Contact Corso) |
Customer Tag | If the customer has a specified tag on their profile | Requires customer line item attribute (Contact Corso) |
Intelligems Test Group ID | Use Intelligems test group for targeting | Requires group ID line item attribute (Contact Intelligems) |
Order Country | The country of the shipping address | |
Order Fulfillment Location | The fulfillment location as determined by Shopify routing rules | |
Order State or Province | The state or province of the shipping address | |
Product Group | If a product from a Corso product group is in the cart | |
Product SKU | If a specified SKU is in the cart | |
Product Vendor | If a specified vendor of a product is in the cart |
Like all other automations, you can combine multiple condition criteria together with the matching rules.
Modification: Apply Fixed Fee
Section titled “Modification: Apply Fixed Fee”You can apply a fixed amount to any of your rates. This can help to conditionally mark up your rates for scenarios where you need to charge extra shipping. You simply specify the amount, the rate, and if the amount should be applied once for the entire cart or that amount per item in the cart.
Example: Add a fixed fee of $10.00 if a particular SKU is in the cart.
And here is what it will look like to the customer. The $10 fee has been added to the original rate and the Plus rate.
Modification: Apply Percentage Fee
Section titled “Modification: Apply Percentage Fee”In this example, we will mark up the shipping rate by a percentage of 50% when shipping to Hawaii or Alaska.
This is what it will look like to the customer. The original $5.00 rate gets marked up to $7.50. The Plus rate adds the shipping protection price of $4.99 to the marked-up price.
Modification: Apply Shipping Discount
Section titled “Modification: Apply Shipping Discount”For some scenarios, you may want to offer a discount on the rate. You can choose to discount the rate by a fixed amount, a percentage, or by removing the Plus price.
In this example, we will discount shipping to free based on a Shopify customer segment.
Notes:
- For customer-based conditions to work, please contact Corso to enable. We need to add customer attributes to the line item so the rates are aware of customer information.
- For shipping discount modifications, be aware that if you want to stack this discount with other product or order discounts, you must set those discounts to combine with shipping.
Here is what it looks like to the customer.
Modification: Modify What Rates Are Offered
Section titled “Modification: Modify What Rates Are Offered”The final modification is the ability to modify which rates are displayed. With this modification, you can add additional rates, remove existing rates, or completely replace the rates with a new set.
Example: Replace the rates with VIP rates and descriptions using the customer segment.
And here’s what it looks like to the customer:
