Key Benefits of Using the New Exchanges Functionality

1. Unified Order Management

Manage all returns and exchanges within a single Shopify order. This eliminates the need for duplicate orders or manual workarounds, creating a more seamless workflow for your team and customers.

2. Simplified Multi-Exchange Handling

If your store allows multiple exchanges per order, Corso makes it effortless to manage each exchange as part of the same transaction. No more confusion or lost orders when customers want additional exchanges.

3. Efficient Refund Tracking

Refunds for exchange orders can now be managed directly in the original order, reducing the administrative burden and keeping everything neatly organized within Shopify’s native system.

4. Enhanced Reporting and Visibility

With Corso’s integration, you can take advantage of Shopify’s native filters to easily track and manage all exchange and refund activity. This improves accuracy in reporting and makes it easier to analyze post-purchase trends.

What to consider before implementing

Switching to Shopify’s new returns API for processing exchanges on the original order instead of creating a new order may have an impact on your fulfillment. Exchange requests can be made on the original order can backdate to older orders, and can have multiple exchange requests on that original order.

You will need to verify that the method you use for fulfillment can fulfill an item or multiple items requested for an exchange on the original order across all time.

How to Setup

There is only one step within the Corso Admin to set this up. Navigate to Settings > Returns > Variant Exchanges and enable ‘Modify Original Order on Exchange’. Screenshot of turning on the modify original order on exchange setting
