Shopify Carrier Service API
Overview
The Shopify Carrier Service API, also known as Carrier-Calculated Shipping (CCS), provides real-time shipping rates from carrier services like FedEx, UPS, and USPS. These rates are displayed to customers at checkout, allowing them to choose the most suitable shipping option.
If you are using the Corso Shipping Plus app on a Basic Shopify Plan billed monthly, you will need to enable the Shopify Carrier Service API in order to use Shipping Plus through Corso. This document outlines the steps to enable the API and provides additional resources for troubleshooting and setup.
How to Enable the Carrier Service API
There are several ways to gain access to the Carrier Service API or Carrier-Calculated Shipping (CCS):
1. Upgrade Your Plan - Access to CCS is included in the Advanced Shopify plan or any higher-tier plan.
2. Add to Any Plan - For a $20 monthly fee, you can add CCS to your Shopify plan if you aren’t using Advanced Shopify or Shopify Plus.
3. Switch to Annual Billing - By switching your billing cycle to an annual payment, you can gain access to CCS without upgrading your plan.
Note: Enabling CCS is not automatic. After completing one of the steps above, you must contact Shopify to enable the feature.
