Protect Your Own Rates With Shipping Plus

You can add Corso shipping protection to any of your existing rates without it being a Shipping Plus rate. This is useful in cases like International rates or another rate provider where you are using a 3rd party provider such as Zonos, Global-e, Passport, etc and you want to protect all these rates with shipping protection.

How It Works

We just need the shipping rate name

All we need is the name of the Shipping rate that you would like to add shipping protection to. Any time an order comes through with that shipping line, then we will consider that order protected by shipping protection and the Corso Concierge will take care of your customer if they have any shipping issues. The shiping protection charge will be included in your regular invoice along with any other shipping protection charges.

You can markup the rate in Shopify

You will probably want to markup your rate in Shopify to cover the shipping protection charge so that the customer pays for the extra charge you will be billed. This is easily done in Shopify in the Shipping and Delivery settings. Navigate to rates and find the app that is providing the rates you want to protect. Click “Edit rate”.

In the pop-up, you will be able to see the name of the rate along with a field where you can enter how much you want to markup the rate to cover shipping protection.

Complete The Setup

You can simply reach out to your Corso Customer Experience Rep or contact us at [email protected]. Just let us know the name of the rates you want protected and we will get things set up for you. In this example, the shipping rate name is “Passport Prioirty Shipping”. You will collect the extra money from the markup to cover the shipping protection charge.

What It Looks Like

In this example, the customer paid $16.98 CAD for shipping which was marked up by $5 in the Shopify admin. The Plus Shipping Price of $2 is how much Corso will invoice you for the protection service. This means that you made and extra $3 on the markup.

All Set

Once setup, going forward all the orders with this shipping line will be protected and our Corso Concierge will handle any shipping issues with award-winning service and you will keep the additional money from the markup.
